In the mapy.com web application, you can also enable various overlay layers for each map type that provide additional information. You can turn on multiple layers at once, which increases the usefulness of the map for your needs.
Cadastral data
The cadastral data layer displays:
- In smaller scales, regional units, and in more detailed scales, individual cadastral areas and parcels
- Detailed information about a parcel after selecting the respective parcel on the map (note: displayed in a separate window and directed to the ČÚZK portal)
The data provider is ČÚZK, and the layer is currently available only on the territory of the Czech Republic.
Photos
The photo layer allows you to view previews of photographs uploaded by users. After selecting a preview, the detail of the photograph is displayed with additional information about the author and the place of capture.
Due to the large number of photographs, not all uploaded photographs are displayed on the map at once; they are automatically thinned based on the selected map scale.
Webcams
The layer displays current shots from webcams around the world. By activating this layer, you will see previews of current shots. Selecting a thumbnail will show detailed information about the respective camera in the right panel with the option to view archived images up to 24 hours back. The image can also be enlarged for a more detailed display. We source the webcams from the service Windy.com.
Slope Grade
This layer, especially suitable for ski mountaineers and climbers, visualizes the slope grade in mountainous terrain using three color shades.
- Level 1: from 30° (light shade)
- Level 2: from 38° (darker shade)
- Level 3: from 45° (darkest shade)
Tourist Trails
The layer offers a comprehensive overview of roads and routes and helps with better orientation in the aerial map. It mainly displays:
- Highways and roads
- Hiking trails
- Cycling paths
- Nature trails
Current Traffic
The layer provides an overview of traffic, just like the Traffic map background. Besides information about current traffic, it also displays places for parking or charging stations for electric vehicles.
Condition of Cross-country Ski Trails
The layer provides information on the maintenance of cross-country ski trails, including the date of the last adjustment. The trails are highlighted in bold and color on the map, indicating the time since the last adjustment, and data is available from the beginning of the winter season in cooperation with bilestopy.cz, Jeseniky.cz, Skimapa.cz and Karlovy Vary region.
