Navigation Interface

The navigation environment includes:

The Blue Arrow

Indicates your current position and driving direction. Walking and cycling navigation additionally shows the current orientation of the phone.

The Upper Green Bar

Informs about the next navigation command – direction, distance to the next turn, lane arrangement, etc.

Informative Traffic Icons

In the bottom left corner, you see your current speed and the maximum allowed speed in that section. If you exceed the maximum allowed speed by more than 10%, you will be visually alerted.

The Blue Route

The currently selected route you are traveling on. In case of selecting a fast route with traffic, the color of the route reflects the traffic situation on that section. Blue indicates that you will pass through the section without delay, red indicates high traffic density (traffic jam).

The Orange Exclamation Mark

Serves for reporting traffic events on the route.

Zoom Slider

During navigation, you can change the map zoom.

The Bottom Bar

Containing basic information:

  • Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA)
  • Remaining driving time
  • Distance to destination
  • Right button for Route Preview: Rotates the map to the north, zooms out the map, and shows the route for approximately 20 minutes of driving ahead of you

By clicking or dragging the bottom bar, you can reveal additional functions that allow you to:

  • Edit the route: Navigation will be paused and you will be redirected to the route planner
  • Share your current location during navigation
  • Set up navigation according to your preferences (e.g. select night mode, set automatic centering, voice navigation, alerts, etc.)
  • Change the navigation map background by selecting from five basic map backgrounds. The aerial background is available only if you are online
  • End navigation: The application will then redirect you to the route planner

During navigation, you can grab and move the map, for example, if you want to check a section further ahead of you. However, after a short while, the map will automatically move back to the default current position so you don’t lose track.

When setting navigation to Fast with traffic, the route is recalculated at regular intervals to find the optimal route to the destination. You will be notified of route changes if the time is significantly shortened or extended based on traffic information. This function requires an online connection during driving.

On some mobile devices, a notification about ongoing navigation is also displayed in the notification bar. This way, you can switch to another application and still keep an eye on the navigation. Information and instructions may also be displayed on the lock screen on supported devices.

When you arrive at your destination, the app will prompt you to rate your satisfaction with the navigation.
