Default map
Used to set the default map that will always be displayed when you start the Mapy.com service. You can choose one of the 5 basic map backgrounds as your default map:
Another option is to set the map background that was used last, i.e., before leaving the service, as the default map.
In the Default map section, select your preferred map background. The change will take effect the next time the web application is launched.
In the Map section, select the Default map item and choose the preferred map background.
Default location
Used to set the default map location in the web application when it is launched. The change will take effect the next time the web application is launched. In the Default map location section, click the Set button and then:
- Select a specific location by clicking on the map
- Type the name of a specific place into the search field
- Enter the coordinates of a specific location into the search field
Confirm the default location setting by clicking the Save button. Then you can edit or delete the default location.
Shaded relief
In the mobile application, it serves to activate or deactivate the display of shaded relief on the map. When the shaded relief is turned on, you get better information about the terrain’s ruggedness. In the Map section, select the Shaded relief item and activate or deactivate the switch.
The display of shaded relief is not available in the Aerial map background. Shaded relief is available online only, i.e., when you have an active data connection on your mobile device.
Slope grade
In the mobile application, it serves to activate or deactivate the display of slope grade on the map. This setting visualizes the slope grade in mountainous terrain in three color shades.
- 1st level: From 30° (light shade)
- 2nd level: From 38° (darker shade)
- 3rd level: From 45° (darkest shade)
In the Map section, select the Slope grade item and activate or deactivate the switch.
The display of slope grade is not available in the Traffic map background. Slope grade is available online only, i.e., when you have an active data connection on your mobile device.
Manual map rotation
In the mobile application, it serves to activate or deactivate the manual map rotation. By turning on this feature, you can manually rotate the map with your fingers in case you need to orient the map in a way that suits your preferences. In the Map section, select the Manual map rotation item and activate or deactivate the switch.
Suppressed map
Used to activate or deactivate the Suppressed map in the web interface. A suppressed map is a deliberately desaturated map where search results stand out better. It is automatically displayed when multiple search results are shown on the map. In the Suppressed map section, activate or deactivate the switch.
