Who can see my photos?

Your photos will be visible to all users of mapy.com, including unregistered users. It is not possible to upload photos that would be accessible only to selected users.

What parameters must photos have?

On mapy.com, you can upload photos stored in common formats such as JPG, GIF, PNG, others are not supported. The recommended minimum resolution is 800×600 pixels, the maximum is 11000×11000 pixels.

When and where will I see all my photos?

Your uploaded photos will automatically appear on Maps after they have been approved. Individual photos are displayed in the gallery of individual spots or on the photo map. All your photos are publicly displayed as part of your public profile. You can manage and view them after logging in to My Mapy, in the Photos section. Here, you can also add additional descriptions, edit their location, or remove them. Photos are sorted from newest to oldest, and sorting can also be changed by the number of views or by popularity.

What is the limit for my photos?

Your photo album on mapy.com has no limit on the number of photos or storage capacity in GB. Only the size of an individual photo is limited.

How can I correct the location of a photo?

For your own photo, you can edit its location through My Mapy. For another author’s photo, you can report an incorrect location using the Report a Problem function. Changes will take effect after approval.

How can I report inappropriate content in a photo?

If you find a foreign photo that contains inappropriate content, such as violence, nudity, or other improper content, you can report it using the Report a Problem function.

How do I display Exif data for photos?

Exif is supplementary data that digital cameras or mobile phones automatically store with created photos. They may contain information about the camera, its detailed setting at the time of taking the photo (sensitivity, aperture, exposure), date and time of capture and also GPS. If the photo does not have this data stored, it will not be displayed.

How will my photos appear on the photo map?

Photos uploaded to a location will appear on the photo map. However, on the map they are thinned depending on the map scale. For thinning, their quality, time of capture, and other parameters are considered.
