Search History
Successfully searched places, terms, and categories are saved to history after logging in, even from offline search. The last three terms are displayed, but you can use the Full history button to see the last few dozen searches. The search history is accessible even offline in the mobile app. You can plan a new route to the searched terms using the arrow icon. Terms can also be deleted, either individually or all at once. The history is synchronized between the web and mobile application, so you can view the results from the web browser on your mobile, and vice versa.
How to delete items from history?
Delete an item by clicking on the trash symbol. You can also delete the entire search history in bulk. Click on Full history and then on Delete entire history.
Delete an item by swiping or by holding your finger on the item and clicking the Delete option.
Voice Search
On supported devices, you can search in the mobile application using voice commands (there is a microphone symbol in the search bar). After entering, the voice is converted into text and then searched. To use this feature, you need to have the text-to-speech (TTS) module downloaded on Android and Siri enabled on iOS. Voice input works only online.
You can use commands like “navigate me home” or “navigate Hruboskalská 339”. If the entry is sufficiently certain, the action will be performed, and navigation will start. This feature is also supported in CarPlay and Android Auto. For example: “distance Prague Brno” will start the planner and plan the route from Prague to Brno.
Offline Search
The search capabilities in the Mapy.com mobile application vary depending on whether you have an internet connection or are using an offline map. Online search offers the same options as searching in the Mapy.com web interface. Queries are sent and evaluated on the server. Thanks to this, the application recognizes typos, aliases (e.g., “Brno” and “Krno”), or searches for business places. The search is based on the current database.
You will automatically obtain an offline database after downloading the offline maps of a selected country and region. This database is smaller than the online one. Without an internet connection, you can search for addresses and places. However, from business places, only those that are directly marked in the map. The currency of the offline database may vary from weeks to about a quarter-year.
What’s Here? Feature
To find out details about a specific location on the map, you can right-click on the map on the web and select the option What is here?. The same result can also be obtained by briefly holding the left mouse button and the CTRL key on the specific location, which will then be marked. This function depends on the current zoom level of the map.
If you have the map displayed at the level of countries, the function returns the names of countries or regions. With higher zoom, it displays specific addresses, streets, or coordinates of the given place.
